I have been searching the net all over and cannot find places to get a decent female crested. All are either crazy high prices or just not what I'm looking for. Any advice? Where do you guys get 'em? Thanks!!

there have been a few at good prices recently in the classifieds, and i think 'the carnivorous orchid' has some pretty good ones for reasonable prices. i lucked out and got some really nice females, but i think alot of people here just kind of get what they can get, or raise a group of nice babies to hopefully end up with some nice females.

It depends on what morph you are looking for. The highest end cresteds will hardly ever be sold as sexed females. mid grade females are often availiable and every now and then you can find a good looking female for sale. The only thing is you get what you pay for. It's not to say that a super sweet deal doen't pop up every blue moon but a nice looking cheap female is normally sold within minutes. Also females that are already proven often tend to sell for a little more granted they aren't super old (egg laying decreases eventually). The going price for sexed females tends to be 150.00 for a average one, 175.00 for a nice one, 200.00 for a Good looking one, 250.00 for realy nice ones and then everything after that doesn't even matter what sex it is. It all comes down to the morph (300-500). Well hope this at least puts things a little more into perspective.
