Lighting/ Heat/ UV fixtures

Louiec Jul 15, 2003 11:14 PM

I would like to hear the different kinds of lighting/Heat/UV set ups people have for their Beardies(I know most have the standard ones)...

I came across this one person who has a huge tank... has to be the same size as mine bout 75 gallons... and all he has as a lighting/heat/UV source is two Zoomed Powersun UV's one on each end of the tank one which is 160 watts and one which is 100 watts...

is this enough... from what I read the Powersun offers all the benifits of ZooMeds ReptiSun bulbs only the PowerSun bulbs have increased intensity and heat.

Do you people think a ZooMed Powersun Bulb at 100 watts will be enough for a young juvenile Beardie in a 20 gallon tank? or is that too much?

what other lighting/heat/uv set ups does everyone have or recommend?

thanks

yes this should be enough, the powersun provides both heat and UVB

i am uncertian if 100watts would be too hot for that small a tank, i use 100watt bulbs on my 4x2 tanks, plus 2 florecent strips for brightness, i get good temps, but you could raise it up off the tank and could get the proper temps, im sure its possible.

UVB and brightness, important, i like the florecent strips and how bright it makes things, keeps my dragons happy and eating well also.

thanks
