arg!!!! help me!

ok i have my ball python..people say the humidity should be at least 60 and i try to keep it that way...well ok heres a visual of my cage....2 hides..one warm one cool...water bowl in kool area...tree in warm area...i have a UTH Pad near the tree and a light just above it....if i leave the light off the humidity stays fine and the heat drops to 75 all day...but 75 seems to kool for all dayy..the top if coverd with screen and foil over that to keep the humidity in....is it ok to let the humidity go down to 40? is it ok to leave the light off and leave the tank at 75? isnt in supposed to be warmer!!?!?!? yes it is.....but...arg please help...

Keep the temps in the mid 80s. I wouldnt be overly dworried about the humidity on a daily basis. When you see the snake go blue prior to shed, you can put a humidity box in with him. A simple tupperware with some slightly damp paper towels will do the trick. This will help the shedding process. hope this helps.

I have my BPs in a Freedom Breeder racks and I have a male who really doesn't do well with the very low humidity it creates. My solution has been to use sphagnum moss as his cage substrate. It has made a huge difference.

I moisten it a little once every two weeks or so (pour a 1/2 cup of water on it) and that keeps him shedding, happy and healthy without any problems associated with wet substrates.
