I'm sure this has been asked a thousand times before! Is there a reason why some hypos have red/pink pupils and some don't. I appreciate any remarks.
Here's a little male hypo from Shores Enuff Snakes. The date stamp should read 2005!
Thanks

Hello... i'm no expert i only have a trio of Hondurans, but i have been in a discussion about this before and one of the conclusions was that there are different reduction levels (Melanin):
***i.e. while some Hypos may express 40% reduction in melanin, others may be reduced by 75% (like the pic u post.. ruby red eyes and lavender bands) or 90% like the extreme (ruby red eyes gray-ish/olive green bands)***
note: percentages are just an example... they aren't accurate.

An albino's eyes appear red because there is no pigment to mask the blood vessels. Hypos have some black pigment but less than the normal amount. This is why their eyes sometimes have a reddish tint.
