Oh... It's not that easy...first of all a couple of vials of CroFab will set your bank account back by more than two thousand dollars. Second, you'll need a doctors percription and a pharmacy willing to order it for you. Best to see if your local hospital stocks it in their pharmacy, as that is the best place to go if your bitten.

Good Luck,

When Al says a hospital is the best place for the administering of antivenin, he's not kidding. It is most effective if used i.v rather than i.m. The patient also needs to be monitored the whole time. Owning your own is not a bad idea, but it should be brought to the nearest hospital with the victim for use. The victim should have a written protocol for the use of the antivenin with him as well. Not all hospitals are staffed with people who have a real good idea of how to use antivenin.

Where would be the best place to obtain this information? I am not exactly trusting of just ANY website unless it is recommended by individuals that have "been there, done that". Should you write a hospital or something that DOES have this experience or knowledge or is there some place specific that would be best?

Thanks for the info!

Best wishes,

Chris
