My rats smell like crap, I need to clear up this urine smell. How much Healthy Habitat do I need to put into each 5 gallon bucket?
Thanks a lot!!

I haven't used the stuff but looked it up. I think most of your smell is due to present dirt and humidity rather than whether or not you are getting the enclosures clean when washing. I know here (cny) that the humidity has made bedding that in the dry winter lasted 10 days last only 4
In my mind I wouldn't bother with it on a regular basis but might clean with it once in a while to 'spruce up'

Haven't we warned you about tampering with the structure of a chaotic system?

I tried it. It works for about 15 minutes.

Not only did the smell come back, but my baby rats started dying on me.

Nothing else changed, so I'm suspicious of "Healthy Habitat"... but it could have been something that I somehow overlooked. Yes, I made sure not to spray on the food or water bottles.

Anyways, the best way to control odor is larger cages, fewer rats, and frequent cleaning. I couldn't stand the work involved so I just bought a stand alone freezer and ordered frozen ones
