African House Snakes stay under 4 ft for the most part, males tend to be a little smaller than females. I've never had an adult that was a picky eater. Mine eat f/t mice or rat pups.
They've got good temperaments and are readily available captive bred. There's a good care sheet for them here on Kingsnake.
Hognose snakes stay small too, but can sometimes be picky eaters.
Hope that helps!

There have been a few advertised on the classifieds here on kingsnake, so that's a good place to look. A number of breeders appear to have them. I've only seen one in a pet shop- so checking on-line is probably your best bet. Also, if you do a google.com search you'll find a lot of information about them.
Posting questions for African House Snakes should probably go in the general snake forum since they don't have a general colubrid forum. There's a yahoo group as well.

Childrens pythons are the second smallest python in the world. As adults they reach about 3 ft. in length. Mine never refuse a meal. They are easy to care for, and have a beautiful
rainbow sheen when in sunlight. Basically, python behavior in a cornsnake sized package!
