enclosure size for adult Borneo-short tails

MikeT Jul 22, 2005 06:35 AM

Hi,
I'm just wondering what people here are using to house adult borneo-short tails and what size you recommend? Any info appreciated. Also, what do you think of aspen shavings for substrate? thanks, Mike

For adults a 4'x2'x1' or something around there is appropriate. Right now I have melamie cages, but I'm about to dive into the world of PVC. I wouldnt use aspen for a cage that large because its too much of a pain to clean, plus you have to worry about belly rot and all sorts of other things. Newspaper or paper towels seem to work fine, I use them for all of my short tails. If you have any other questions feel free.

I use Vision cages models 322 and 422 for my adults. I use cement mixing tubs for hide boxes and large sweater/blanket boxes for water tubs. They do well using this setup.
