Hey all,

I am a small scaled breeder and have some gila's. All are legal, and I have paper work. I am looking to move to AZ but do not want to part with them. Any of you able to get a permit? Any advice would be great!!!

The paper work I have on them is not the most "Profesional" Looking.....but I am good friends with the breeder and will have him rewrite it. Any advice on the content, and form of the paper work? Anyone have a blank one I can use for referrence?

I know this permit is hard to get but it is worth a shot. The people at AZ fish and game don't seem to know much but if I dont try I will never know.....

The AZ game & fish will act stupid until you are in the state, and then bust you. The AZ law prohibits importation of all venomous reptiles, including Heloderma, unless you are a zoo, etc. Your papers do not matter to them and they will not give you a permit. If you want to keep your Gilas, stay out of AZ.

...this is something that needs to happen, but if you start low in the agency, yeah your request is DoA.
I recommend you put together a thoughtful letter (& Id help you w/ this) & send it to the Chairman of the Commisssion & the Governors Ntrl Resource laison.
Obsolete "one size that fits all" rules are inappropriate in the modern world we live in. You should be willing to work a bit & who knows mebbe effect change....
