I wish I could take credit for finding this boa but I didn't. A friend of mine was working on rain gutters in poway and stumbled across this adult male "unicolor" boa. His tail was sticking partially out of a hole into a house in a new development. Beleive it or not, the snake was to far in and couldnt be coaxed out w/ out harming it(as my freind called me to ask what to do). I told him to just leave it be and hopefully he would see it the next day (better safe than sorry, i just didnt want a "non herper" to end up hurting the snake just to show it to me.) Well, it paid off. Sure enough at the end of the day on the next day, everyone went to go put tools away etc. and my budy went to check on the boa, again (he spent half of his day walking to the spot to see if he could see it) and there it was, this time, only the head was peaking out. Again, he called me and I told him if the head is sticking out do not approach it, it sounded
like he was gonna give himself away. Sure enough, the boa ended up crawling a little less than half way out and thats when I said it was a smart time to grab him. Such a beautiful boa. ROOTSROK
