She laid!

Rouen Jul 16, 2003 01:39 AM

finally Theia the 3-toe laid.. 3 good sized eggs!
all in all it took her about 3 hours..
I have a cooler, critter keeper, aquarium heater and some vermiculite.. only thing I think I'm missing it a thermometer and I'll get one tomorrow
I have 3 questions..
1. can I leave the eggs in with her till the morning
2. what's safe to mark the eggs with so I dont roll them?
and 3. when using the "cooler method" are you supposed to close the lid or keep it open?(cooler method http://forums.kingsnake.com/view.php?id=46383,46461 )
Thanks!

If the eggs are not buried, she'll eat them. If they are exposed they will dry out and die.

I've used a felt tip marker and made a small dot, but now what I do is use a pencil and VERY LIGHTLY I put the initial of the mothers name on the top of the egg as my mark. It helps since I have multiple females.

thanks nathan,
two of the eggs have little indentations on them, thats normal right?I have them at 85.3 degrees F, my humidity gauge is somewhat busted and just says "HI"digital thermometer/humidity)
what does the humidity need to be at?
thanks
