Any idea what to expect?

AbsoluteApril Jul 22, 2005 02:13 PM

I am curious what to expect as far as color changes with my '03 female GTP "Jayapura type". I know, common question you are probably sick of.. but any opinions would be great since I am still a newbie when it comes to GTPs.

The gentleman I got her from produced her from two jayapura adults, I don't know how good that locality info is. He never got around to sending me the pics of the adults.
This was my girl before the color change (before I got her):

This is a bad pic since I took it to show her bad shed... and didn't get any newer pics yet now that the shed is off, but you get the idea...

She is now totally light green (almost a lime color) and all the wedges/diamonds (what are those called? in atbs they are chevrons) and the striping are bright white. I assume she is still going through her change.

Should I expect the white areas to turn blue, stay white or go green?
Any ideas or opinions? thanks and TGIF!

I am really hoping they turn blue... I just wasn't sure if the white turning blue was normal or likely.

I'll be getting some updated pics soon, they both just ate the other night (no problems there thank goodness!) so after another day or two it'll be picture time. Thanks for the reply!

April, one thing I have learned from chondros is to not expect the expected. You could expect the diamonds to stay white or, turn blue, yellow, green, or.....who knows. Here's one of mine that kept the white with a little yellow and blue mixed in. I'm sure of one thing though, expect a beautiful chondro when it's all said and done.

thanks Brandon! I had a feeling you would say something like that.. I am impatient, it's just so new and I am so excited, I can't wait to see but I should enjoy this stage since it will be over and gone soon. The one you posted is beautiful, the white staying is very pretty! I haven't seen that too often in the short time I've been looking closely at GTPs.. it seems to usually be just random white specks. I know I will be happy however mine turns out. thanks for the reply (and have a great weekend!)
