10 gallons too small?

Randy27 Jul 16, 2003 01:45 AM

I need to make some room for another group of pumilio that I got from a local breeder. I was thinking of transferring my pair of azureus (9 months old) to a 10 gallon from a 20 gallon so that I can house the new pumilios in the 20 gallon. Any thoughts? If 10 gallons is too small, I suppose I'll just have to break down and get another 20.

Azureus are pretty big frogs, but you won't have a problem. Remember the rule of thumb is one frog per 5 gallons of space. I used to house my two tincs in a 10 gallon and they did just fine and I could monitor them easily too.

Do you think that putting them in a smaller tank will impede breeding activity in the future?

i dont think that would be to small for them and it probably wont be a problem for breeding, i kept my tincs in a ten gallon tank for a while and during that time they layed they're first eggs.
