baby colors

do babies generally retain, lose, or enhance their colors as they get older? b/c i have been told all three and now i don't know what to think

All of my hatchlings first appear to be red. As they age, the red coloration fades and they start to show their adult coloration. By about 4 months, you have a really good idea of what their adult coloration is going to be, but not always (sometimes you have to wait until they're a little older). Their color intensifies as they age and finally peaks when they reach maturity. Hope this helps.
