They are found in southern central Texas and into Mexico.

Hello Blackbear, I saw where you are 12 and wanted to know if you are new to the hobby and where you were at with it. Feel free to ask anything as most people on these forums will be more than happy to help you out. You will get differences of opinions but that is part of the game and part of what makes it interesting.

The Black-Striped Snake is found in the southern tip of Texas and extends down to Central America. They are poisonous as the other responce mentioned but this is not the same as a Rattlesnake. There are multiple species of snakes that have poisonous charachteristics though they are not considered dangerous to people. In the United States the only snakes that are poisonous from the perspective of being dangerous to humans are the Rattlesnakes, Copperheads and Water Moccasions, and the Coral snakes. There are some like the Black-Striped that are venomous but not realy a danger to people. You can do a web search for the Black-Striped snake under the name Coniophanes imperialis.
