UNBELIEVABLE, BUT TRUE !!!! SCARY!!( This REALLY happened yesterday)

BlueKing Jul 22, 2005 11:35 PM

I still can't believe this whole story: I had to work late today and my wife took the snake to a vet that specializes in Exotics! What happened next is UNBELIEVABLE. She got into an argument (and almost got kicked out) with the receptionist and Vet assistant, because they said that ALL kingsnakes are POISONOUS except the cal king!?!?!? WHAT THE F???
Okay, next event: Doctor comes in and looks at the snake - can't identify it. That's understandable of course, a lot of folks have never seen a goini.
Here comes the shocker of the day: The vet turns to his assistant and asks her: What's wrong with this snake? She says: I think it's having problems shedding! My wife almost lost her self control! She immediately assures her that the problem is an internal bacterial infection and blister disease! WOW! I can't believe this!!! She finally talked them into giving her vials of Baytril to treat my snake. 68 bucks later, she exits the building vowing to NEVER go back there again. Thank God!!!
Hopefully we'll all learn from this scenario and maybe approach any veterinarian with more basic information and more caution

Sounds like you had fun lol...

All kings except the cali king are poisonous? Pff... Everyone knows that the eastern kings are poisonous either. Idiots.

You should take a scarlet king in there just to screw with them lol.

Wow crazy to hear but that is good info to understand. I will be investigating any Vet before I think about consulting. Luckily I've never had a sick snake.
