Hogg Island Boa Caging ?

kingsnaken Jul 23, 2005 06:36 AM

I am expecting a pair of Hoggs. If I plan on breeding them when they are big enough, is it ok to house them together? What is a good size cage dimension for them? Lastly, is it Hogg or Hog? Thanks, Derek

If they're a breeding pair and you house them together, they'll almost definitely breed before you're ready for them to breed. Perhaps when they're still too young. If that happens, it could kill the female, or hinder her future reproductive capacity.

All these pro breeders that post on the site, seem to keep pretty tight control over the circumstances of breeding. Not to mention they're almost all against housing snakes together.

Hope that helps.
