Alligator Snappers are illegal to sell in Florida. You will have to buy one out of state and make sure you keep the receipt. The law states that you can own one and only one. John Richards says that's per person in a household. However, I read the law and interpreted it as meaning no more than one per household.

Are you talking about commons and FL snappers now? If so, no. I was never in Jax much when I lived down there. Try a pet store or look in the KS classifieds.

As for alligator snappers they are illegal and no one will sell you one. I have no idea if they naturally occur that far east so you probably couldn't collect one yourself.
