Something is Wrong with my Cornsnake

dametria Jul 23, 2005 11:34 AM

Hello, I have a small cornsnake, shes almost a year old. I fed her yesterday and today she acting funny. She LOOKS just fine but shes holding her tail limp. Shes acting like its too heavy for her to curl up. Im wondering if maybe the pinky was too big (we just moved up from small to large pinkys) or shes getting ready to shed or shes sick or something. Had anyone else ever had this kind of problem?

-TIA

From the explanation of your question it seems everything was fine until you went to the next size food item. It is possible your snake is not ready for the next size yet.

The food item should only slightly show after swallowing. If the food item is to large drop back down to the smaller ones till your snake can accept it.

I tend not to feed my reptiles while in blue. The skin preparing to shed does not easily stretch and could restrict the natural functions of digestion. After the shedding has completed the retiles skin can expand.

My thoughts, Dann
