anyone ever use or hear about the vibrating food dishes??

my pet store has for sale, forget who makes them, but they are vibrating food dishes for insect eaters.im wondering if anyone knows about these being used for chameleons?i have never heard them run so i dont know if they are loud and if they would scare a chameleon.im asking because i live in jersey and in my area we get huge amounts of grasshoppers, cicadas, huge!!(not like the petshop)black field crickets, moths, butterflys.i live in a very rural area and i would love to catch bags full of these and freeze them.i figure the only way to get my chameleon to eat them, would be to make them move with some device like the one i mentioned.so,do you guys think it will work?? can insects even be frozen??i have seen my chameleon eat these wild caught insects and he just loves them.he seems so much more happy eating these than crickets or mealworms.his favoriet and the ones that get the best feeding responce, are green instects(like green grasshoppers) especially when they are on a green plant.

Can't you just put the live hoppers in the cage? Freezing insects damages them and reduces their nutrient load. You could catch some grasshoppers and put them in a jar in the Fridge for a few minutes to slow them down. Don't freeze them.

As chams are not attracted to dead prey (its not as nutritious anyway) I've never seen the point for the vibrating dish.

Just let them in the cage the chameleons love the movement of the BUG .
