The infamous bulimic ruber...

rootsrok Jul 23, 2005 07:02 PM

Well kind of. Eimon and I were out in borrego one night and found possibly the strangest thing I have ever seen herping. An adult ruber was hit just before we found it. It was hard for us to tell what was going (going in or coming out)on at first but once we did, I ran to the car to get my camera and here are the pics. It looks as if the snake may have been laying on the road digesting its meal and was clipped right in the section where the meal was, causing the sudden case of "bulimia". It was a very sad sight but I figured people would still be interested in seeing it. On ks, you can only post 3 pics so here are the only 3 pics I have of the regurge, the forth will be posted next. FYI the snake was alive and okay after it regurged. It seemed like it may make a full recovery but who could know for sure. Rootsrok

Roots, well done! Suddenly I'm not hungry anymore....LOL. See, I told you, Neatoma. I love that name for some reason. Hey Regal, we had "storms" in the desert Sat night, we executed, but the serpents sure didn't. Cali just ain't AZ when it comes to monsoons.

...pain...see post under reply to Mr Hoyer...

Interesting how these critters seem to have an agenda of their own eh? We figured mebbe many of the females are hunkered down = ovo-deposition, but where are the males n juveniles???

Oh well it takes many good beatings to make the occasional "supertrip" really feel super...I just hope I dont die of old age before I experience another! Sheesh!
