All the "Rupple" pastels I've ever seen are very different. No questions asked, this one sure has me asking.

But its still a nice pastel. This was a 7 egg clutch.....i got 1 Cinnamon pastel, 1 Pastel & 5 normals........so I cant say that his look is not reproducable..........I have a few more clutches from just the Ruppel to normal girls.....as well as a clutch of 5 eggs from the Ruppel male to the Female pastel I got from you a few years back.....so I am hoping for my first Super Pastel in that clutch.

If his Granity/Stonewashed look is genetic......I have a good chance to prove it this year.......

I thought the Ruppel line was THE ONLY "proven" Stonewashed Pastel trait......???

So, what's with the if?? and why are you proving it out?? Thought that part had already been determined......???

Nice looking Pastel Jared.........but it sure the hell ain't stonewashed.........(and to think some people say that Blondes are nothing more than a marketing ploy)......??....

Best of luck proving out Ruppel's Pastel........

Stan [produced the first ones from a random breeding........and as far as I know has not produced another clutch of similar pastels since. An no one else has animals from that clutch......they may have other pastels that were produced by Stan......and were sold as Ruppel pastels......but from my knowledge this is the first breeding of the F1 offspring. So no.....no one has proved the trait to be a reproducable morph....as far as having the Stobnewash/granite look.......and "IF" it is reproducable then I hope to hatch em out........"IF" not then its just a random thing.....

Hope that helps.

I dont believe I ever mentioned it being a Stonewashed pastel..........I said it was a Ruppel Pastel.....by which I was implying that it was from Ruppels lineage.......sorry again for the mixup.

Actually, guys, I have produced 3 years worth of them, and many of them DO have the granite as well as stone washed look, whereas some of them could be mistaken for supers they are so bright (I recall Debra at Camlon telling me a year and a half ago how someone thought the one she bought from me was a super). Anyways, I believe that the granite is codominant in my animals, as approximately half of them are granites, and those also tend to be more stonewashed in appearance. Many of the non-granite ones though, are MUCH brighter with a more reduced pattern. So, although I won't claim they are the world's greatest thing, they certainly are interesting to see what they produce.

PS........I bred my male to a VERY dark female last year and produced PURPLE pastels, which were really cool, (I think).
