Blue Carpet Python??

JakeM May 17, 2003 03:56 PM

A few years ago, there was a bluish coastal in the classifieds. I think it was Reptile Haven that was selling it, and they were saying it was possibly axanthic. It was really pretty; it kind of reminded me of the color of a blue tegu. Anyway, I was just wondering if any of you knew what happened to this animal, if any more of these have been produced, etc.

I remember that animal, or one similiar to it. It was a Coastal, and every few years one pops up with a blueish tint to it. It isn't a recessive trait, but one that comes from a certain population ( or outcrosses thereof ) of coastals, I can't remember where though. But every now and then one pops up and they definately are beautiful

Not being cynical but i have never seen a carpet in Australia that has a blue tinge.Would be interested in knowing where they come from if they do indeed exist in Australia. We have a brilliant blue tree snake but never heard of a carpet having blue.Anyone has pics?

cheers
Mark

or weeks(?) maybe to find that website again. I had it on my favorites but erased it about 6 months ago. It had a few pics of 2 different but similiar looking carpets that showed this trait. It wasn't like a electric blue, more like a steely blue ( similiar to Imbricata, but more blueish instead of grey ) type color that I've never seen on a carpet before.
