is there a forum anywhere on the internet with more "HELPS!!"???

i dont think there is a forum anywhere that you can find more HELPS!!...it just goes to show that chameleons are by no means a begginer reptile.its a shame that veilds have become so inexpensive and available.people think that just because they are cheap and found in just about any pet store, theres nothing to worry about.what they dont know is over 90 percent of them dont last more than a couple weeks in their new owners care.i dont know this for sure, but im willing to be that captive bred panthers have a much better survival rate than captive bred veilds.not because panthers are more hardy, quite the opposite..veilds are considered much easier to care for.its just that not many people are going to throw away 3-400 bucks on a panther if they have no idea what they are doing.spending 30 bucks on a veiled is a much more spur of the moment type of purchase that comes with much less risk and attracts much more amatures.i just wish that all the serious veiled breeders in this country would collectivly raise their price drasticly just so we wouldnt see so many of these "HELP" posts.

with the utmost respect to you, isnt giving help what this forum is for? chameleons are by far not a begginer reptile and too many people do buy them without knowing what there getting into. but instead of telling them how unresposible and stupid they are and leaving their animals to suffer why not help? it would be impossible to have all the breeders collectivly raise their prices because there will always be people trying to make money and liquidate their stock to make the most money the fastest, and with the high amount of people breeding chams and their high amount of offspring, raising prices would cause a lull in the market and the people breeding chams for a hobby would be suck with 30 chams, therefore prices still need to stay competitive.

I'm betting that there are lots of people out there like me. I bought books and did some research *after* I was asked to take Nemo my first cham. I had two weeks to get ready; and I did read and learn as much as I could. Conflicting information was a huge problem, too many pet store owners have no clue. I've obviously done an alright job as Nemo is 2 1/2 now and still very healthy. (please note that nemo is being treated by a vet right now for what we think is a metabolic or digestive disorder) but she is getting older for a cham. None of my books say anything about parasites or deworming..... I had no idea . My nearest reptile vet is about four hours away. I guess my biggest problem is that my heart is too soft, I couldn't leave her to suffer in that kid's bedroom. I have nothing but the best of intentions as I'm sure most everyone here does. I came here because I needed advice when I couldn't get help any other way. I find it very disheartening to see lectures about stupid people because I'm a stupid people but I do my best. This site does offer the best advice on the internet. Its a shame that you would criticize anyone for seeking help for their animal.
