Young Male

DanW Jul 24, 2005 09:08 AM

Would a yearling male boa at 3.5' or so be able to breed this fall? If he attempts breeding is there a high probability he won't be able to breed successfully?

Thanks,
Dan

I've heard of some males being bred at 3'. But mine are on average 4.5 feet. Depends on weight and how mature your boa is for is size.

Our EBV red group hypo male is all of about 3.5 feet and he is the daddy of 35 babies from two different breedings this year. He is an 02 male and was raised slowly. Maturity has a everything to do with the ability to breed, rather than size. A yearling male may have the ambition, but not enough drive to do the job right. Unfortunately, there is only one way to find out. Good luck....
