What did you do with that snake?

...I was just wondering if you let it go in the same place...or tried to re-locate it...

Mike Meade Jul 27, 2005 02:22 AM

What would Dean do??

Just wondering. Personally, I wouldn't relocate it because I wouldn't have a better idea of where it could survive than it would. Also I would think it would be against the law, wouldn't it? Heck, isn't picking on up against the law?

Is there a "correct" answer here?

DeanAlessandrini Jul 27, 2005 06:23 AM

I'd have to just let it be...
Yes it's illegal to even touch one.

Even with permission, relocating is a tricky game.
Sometimes you end up doing more harm than good.

Life is full of tough decisions, isn't it?

What an AWESOME find! Every Indigo keepers dream come true. I agree heartily, let it go where you found it. and yes, it is illegal to even touch them, let alone pick them up and transport them to a safer location. Would be a darn shame to get busted for trying to save the snakes life.

The road to hell is lined with good intentions, I guess..

Take care,

That Indigo looks to be about 1 year old.

they would probably be glad to have the data and it could prevent development in your area. That way you could be assured of at least having the habitat in place in five years
