Shedding

ladywhipple02 Jul 24, 2005 12:26 PM

I'm pretty new to the whole ball python business. I have a baby normal and she's usually pretty active. But the last couple of days she's stayed curled up in her hide and won't move for anything. Also, she ate two mice last week, but has refused food the last two days. Her colors are getting dull, her belly is turning pink, and she's been rubbing her nose on various objects... so I figure she's going into shed. Is it normal for balls to go off feed when they're shedding? And how long does shedding normally take? I don't want to force anything on her and stress her out. But I also get worried about my baby easily. So I'll leave it to the experts to help me out. Thanks!

It is very usual for Ball pythons to stop eating for a shed.
The whole shed time takes about a week. 1 of my bps in in a shed right now. And if you want you can give a warm water bath. It works for me.
