Hi Shelly,

First thing you need to do is clean out the scrape. Dogs have very dirty mouths and it could cause an infection. I would recommend swabbing it with diluted Bedatine about 3 times a day.

Make sure you keep him on substrate that is clean such as paper towels until it heals.

If you have a vet you trust I would take him for an evaluation. The vet might perscribe a cream to put on it and might also give you antibiotices just in case of infection.

Hopefully other people with chime in on what else to do.

Hope this helps a bit.

thank you so much

I would agree! Keep it very clean. Betadine works wonders. Becarefull using neosporing. I believe that is a petorlium base.
Take it to a herp vet ASAP!
Also when you try to get photos, hold the camera farther away. I'm sure you were just wanting to get a closeup of the injury. However it was very hard to see due to out of focuss. Does your camera have a macro mode? If so use it for the up close shots.
Good luck with your tort!
