heat rock

i was wanting to know if you can use heat rocks for bearded dragons i have had an igauna for a wile now and i know they cant have them but i didnt know about bearded dragons.

any time that there is a heat source that is in direct contact with any animal it is a bad thing. I would honestly never recommend using a heat rock, with beardies even more so. I have heard too many stories about them getting burned by the rocks.

You can use a heat rock with a bearded dragon, only if you cut off the powercord. Bearded dragons can't detect heat through the belly, instead using an organ in their heads to sense heat and light. Thus, if the rock should over heat or short out, bearded dragons and other sun basking reptiles can easily burn themselves badly before they even realize they are being cooked. For the cost of the heatrock and the risks involved, its far more cheaper to buy a couple large flat regular stone.
