JERUSALEM POST (Israel) 24 July 05 Police warn public: Python escaped Hamat Gader park
(AP) "Sarah is missing, but please don't try touch her if you find her."
This was the alert Israeli police issued Sunday after Sarah, a five meter (16 foot) python, was discovered missing from the Hamat Gader reptile park in the southern Golan Heights.
The snake is "very dangerous and can easily crush a human to death," said police spokeswoman Aliza Azulai, telling the public not to approach the 30 kilogram (65 pound) reptile.
Azulai said police were investigating whether the snake had escaped or was stolen from the glass enclosure she shares with other pythons. The snake is valued at NIS 10,000 (US$2,200).
But while Sarah poses a pretty big threat, she isn't the biggest kid on the block. Experts X-rayed the other pythons in the enclosure, including neighbor python Monica, to make sure they hadn't eaten Sarah.
