My First Bairds

sulu Jul 24, 2005 10:38 PM

Well after reading this BB for months I got my first Baird today. I'm so excited. It's a female 20 inches long. They said she's 7 or 8 months old. When I put her in her tank I thought she would go hide but she went exploring instead trying to find a way out. I have her on aspen. Thanks for all the helpfull information every one gives here. If it wasn't for this board i'd probly have a baby corn that has not fed yet. When i ask how many times the corn ate the guy told me it hasn't ate yet but I learned to stay away from it thanks to this board. If any one has any go sites for bairds please post them. Sorry for this being so long but I'm just so excted.

congrats on your new bairdi. I think will love it.
Remember to handle it regularily and don't be surprised if it is a little nervous. They calm down with regular handling and make excellent pets.

Thanks. Sorry it's taken a while to get back here. I don't plain on getting any more snakes. I want to be sure i can take good care of this one. She's so neat. So far the only time she goes in her hides is at night. I thought it would be the other way around. Well off to googles to do some searching on Bairds. Thanks again.
