I took my BD outside the other day to get some sun and was walking around the yard looking for some wild greens for him to eat (would have been easier but we mowed all the blooming dandelions the previous day!) So, I get this brilliant idea and put him on the ground by the dandelion greens since he wasn't wanting any from my hands... well he just sits there, until I go to pick him up to bring him back inside and ....
there he went! Those little legs went peddling with that tail up in the air and man he's a fast little sucker! He ended up under some bushes... luckily they were pretty easy to get under to get him back out. Scared the dickens outta me... I'd never seen him run like that before. I certainly won't make that mistake again!
He did like the japanese beetles though. I'll post a pic as soon as I can figure out how to get my camera to actually capture his colors... he's got some gorgeous yellow coming in on his head and more orange on his face & back, etc... and my absolute favorite part is his lavendar side bars! They just GLOW when he's fired up!
