Hi Everyone,
I’m having a problem heating my viv and was hoping someone could offer some straight forward advice.
I currently use a heat mat on the floor (under the tank) & a ceramic plate on the ceiling both wired to the same thermostat, the probe about an inch up in the middle and I use a digital thermometer. Though this gives a correct overall gradiant I don’t think this is offering a proper hot spot.
I want to change to a spot lamp during the day on a 12 hour cycle and a heat mat on the back wall with just the mat on for the night time. But this won’t provide a basking area in the evenings.
Will this set up work? And would it be best to keep them on separate thermostats? I planned to have the light on a dimmer and timer.
