And if I am correct I believe I didnt comment on the quality of or lack there of on any part of your snakes.........I just asked which was which.....a simple question.......that you felt threatened by.......sorry.............next time I will keep my questions to myself.

feel threatened. I simply didn't see the need to label anything.
I wanted the people who read this forum to see what I saw five years ago when I popped a clutch of snakes the differance "to me"
of which was that of night and day.
But since you are having so much difficulty see this. For your sake, The lighter one is the Thunder.
Best regards
Tom

So what's the difference between the thunder and a pastel?

Mike:

The point is that it's not a Pastel Jungle, even though it may have some of the same characteristics. What is cool about these things is that when bred together they produce a super.
The reason I posted these pics was simply to show people how I stumbled onto this thing to begin with.
When I bred the original male five years ago, and produced a clutch of very light snakes along side others that were normal, being able to see the differance between the two I figured why not raise them up and breed them back together to see what happens. Good thing I made the distinction.
Knowing there are people who read this thing who this kind of information may actually help prove something out some day.
I just thought why not show them how I did it.
I realize that my Thunder co-doms and Lightning super really aren't as out there or as impressive as a lot of the new combos that seem to be hitting every day. But what can I say, they are what they are, a new co-dom trait.
I mean, I'm going to work with these things. Believe me I realize that the combo potential is very real with any new co-dom trait.

Here's my 2 cents.

Look at the cinnamon pastel, the spotnose or the het red axanthic...pretty boring looking in my opinion...but just look at pewters, silver bullets, pastel het axanthics, black snakes, super spotnoses (Tracy is probably laughing her butt off at all the critics!), etc. The power is in the super and more importantly in the crosses.

Honestly Tom, I think your snakes look like a pastel and a super pastel respectively...and they might just be a different lineage just like lemon pastels, ruppel pastels, graziani pastels, etc...but who knows? What they are going to look like when crossed into other things? What's a lightning spider going to look like? No one knows until you do it.

So keep that price high Tom, make some crosses, and hopefully show that they truly are a special thing. Even if they act exactly like a pastel, it's always nice to have some fresh genetics to throw in the mix. But please, take some better pics.

Matt

Why is it not a pastel jungle?

they make supers too

For what reason is it not a pastel? The supers look exactly the same as pastel supers.

The Thunderball Is the one "on top", the overall lighter one, with the color (somewhat, which I am using lightly) which is contributed to a Hypo. I am refering to the head which has a light chocolate milk color (im a chef so I contribute looks to food and their colors I may be totally wrong about that one being a Thnder, but I like it! I wouldn't mind owning that one even if it's not a Thunder.

It is a nice snake...but i would put it up there with the Granites...something nice to have in the collection...but not something i am going crazy over...how about the super you had. Do you have a comparison with that? Maybe it looks a lot better in person also. Will you have it at a show? That BLackhead that Ralph has did not impress me until I saw it at Daytona last year...I think the Blackhead is awsome.

some thing very cool about the eye of the super I plan to post.
thnx
Tom

PS... The Super is the main attraction so far with this morph until the co-dom mixes well with other stuff.
I have a few ideas of what it will mix well with.
thnx

Tom,

Clearly there is a difference in these two snakes. I'd really like to see the Thunder in person. Will you be at Daytona this year?

It is just hard to see what you see with the low quality of pics. Any new morph is sweet, and I bet if the price was $2500, instead of $25,000, you would have gotten some takers, and maybe not so much "critiquing" on here

Dave

EmberBall Jul 27, 2005 08:43 PM

Meant to say that this pic is one of my "unproven, and dinking around projects." Hope I get as lucky as you did! Same snake as above, and yes I do know she has some stuck shed.
