They Hatched! My first eggs! Help with hatchling Questions!

Palex134 Jul 25, 2005 06:16 PM

My eggs hatched from may 17th. They were laid in the shipping box. They are from High Red Parents. What should I feed them and how long should I feed them after birth? How hard should I mist them? How old Can they be shipped out? More pics soon!

They are easily my favorite herps!~

feeding should be exactly the same as adults only with appropriately sized objects. I feed mine CGD every other night and very small crickets when i find them in the adults cages. I spray each cage in the morning and in the night until i have evenly sprayed the entire cage and everything is damp ( not soaking). just try not to use any substrate that can easily be ingested. they will most likely wait to eat until after their first shed which should take 1-3 days.

I wait until mine are at least a month old before shipping them out. That way, they've put on a bit of weight so they aren't as fragile, and you know that they're eating well. Good luck with your new babies!

She is licking baby food off my fingers. The other is still in the egg but should hatch soon. She became a nice bright brick red this morning. This is the first time i've hatched out an animal. Crested geckos are easily my favorite herps. She has bright sky blue eyes too like her mom.
