What Boa?

derenne Jul 26, 2005 02:21 AM

I have an 11 year old son who is fasinated with snakes in particular boas and he wants one really bad. I have done some resource but do not know much about snakes or boas. He is a responsible kid and I know I can trust him to take care of it. I just want some help deciding which type of boa to get him if there is one. I would need one that is non agressive and very easy to take care of. I also have a 5 year old daughter and I would like something that she could "help" her brother take care of. Also the snake has to stay small because I really do not want to spend a lot of money on a huge cage. Any help would be apreciated.

Thanks,

Matt

Hmmmm...

If you want a boa that stays small under 3 feet consider sand boas.

If you want a bit bigger but traditional looking like the bigger boas consider a hog island boas.

If you want small, narrow, docile, colorful then consider a brazilian rainbow boas, but these are boas that require more humidity than the first 2 stated.

I would recommend a rosy boa.
