Urgent Egg Question

Geckos_R_Me Jul 26, 2005 10:21 AM

Hi everyone, I have been incubating one henkeli egg for 115 days now and yesterday I go to check on it and find a big crack down the center and a tiny piece of the egg fallen off on the side. I assumed it was starting to hatch but it has been at least a day now and it hasn't done anything else. Is this bad? Should I try and help it out? I really appreciate any advice. This is my first egg and I will be so sad if I do anything wrong.

I haven't hatched out any uroplatus eggs yet so I don't know what is wrong for sure, but to me it sounds like the henk didn't have the strength to make it out of the egg. If he hasn't merged by now he has passed on.

at this point, if it's cracked and still nothing has come out, either it has gone bad for so long that the juices have gotten all nasty and caused the egg to crack, or as the other mike suggested it almost made it out but not quite. it's at the point where you could expect it to make it out, but i would give it a sniff, but it doesnt sound good.
