Who feeds chicken?

burmaboy Jul 26, 2005 10:33 AM

I found a farm nearby that sells rabbits, and chickens.
I was wondering if anyone here feeds chickens?
And if I go ahead and feed chickens, how many make a meal for a large burm?
I normally feed 4-5 collosal rats, or 2 1lb rabbits, and another gets 2 2lb rabbits.
And there is no chicken conversion chart. I'm also going to check on their rabbit prices. Shipping has gone sky high.
It might be cheaper to be fresh rabbit locally, than to ship.
Just thought I'd try a chicken for a change of pace.

I feed Chickens IF I can't find anything else. I know Bob Clark feeds chickens as well. You didn't mention the size of your snake so I can't really tell you how many to feed.

If you can get rabbits, go with rabbits. I have a local breeder here that gives me any size I want for 5 bucks. I get 6 pounders for that price. If you can find a deal like that, stock up on them, get a deep freeze or something.

Biggest burm is around 10ft. Seems my last order of rabbits began to thaw in transit, and oddly, my snakes wont eat them.
I just called my local farm , and the rabbits and chickens are both $10 each.
Not much more than what rabbits cost with shipping figured in.($8.50)
So from now on, fresh rabbits from the farm, and mice and rats will be bought at shows.Where I've been able to get a quality product at a fair price.
Still cheaper than buying online and paying for shipping.
