separating

mkurgan Jul 16, 2003 10:10 AM

After reading many posts, i think it might be best to separate my male and female. I have a nice size tank that i just bought and was wondering if they sell any dividers at the pet store-to just divide it right in half?

my beardies are 9 weeks old - should i separate them immediately or do i have time?

thanks

You still have some time. Earliest I have heard of breeding is 4 months. But it won't hurt to do it now.

I would say do it now if possible. It's not just breeding you need to worry about. If one should start to show aggression, the other could get hurt. There's also more competition for the food.

I know they sell tank separators, but be sure you have ample room to have gradient temperatures. Also, I've heard of females laying infertile eggs just because they've been in the presence of males, so make sure the divider is not clear. No sense inviting more stress.

Hope I helped!
