Does my ball python need lights?

I have never given him flouros or anything in 15 years..hes fine. The guy at my pet shop says no. Is this true?

Ball Pythons, being basically nocturnal, don't need lighting. Lights won't make a difference in the health of the animal. And after 15 years without extra lighting it would probably only make your ball cranky Lights for Ball Pythons are basically for the benifit of the keeper( i.e. you can see him better). Some do believe that the snake needs a day/night change for the benifit of the breeding of balls, but (and don't quote me on this) I believe it's been proven otherwise. Normal room lighting would probably be sufficient.
