IMy GTP was fine yesterday. Today however he went to the bathroom and about and inch-and and a half of his inside is hanging out. I will take him the vet as soon as possible i.e. tomorrow. Is there anything I can do know and what is the prognosis, does this happen sometimes to GTP's

Rectal prolapse is something that happens to chondros on occasion. Greg Maxwell recommends moving the animal to a plastic tub with a shallow amount of clean water in it and some paper towels. You want just enough water to keep the prolapsed tissue wet. Make a thick paste of powdered sugar or granular sugar and water. Place directly on the swollen tissue using an eyedropper or a syringe without the needle. He says that minor cases can retract on their own, however,some need to be repaired by a vet. Immediate attention to keep the tissue from drying out is important. It's also important to use enough water to keep the tissue wet, but not wash the sugar paste off.

yea,its a rectal prolapse.its not pretty but kinda common in reptiles.hey while we are on the topic,anyone ever see the rectal prolapse on rotten.com? i think its called powerlifting accident or something??its really funny.the guy has a rectal prolapse while preforming in a weight lifting competition.the prolapse is so large and powerful,it rips right through his weight lifting spandex bodysuit. the caption says that fecal matter was sprayed all over the audience.he made a full recovery.if you do decide to look at the photo,youll see why its so amazing that he recovered.he almost looks split in 2. i better stop. sorry if you could have gone without hearing the details.
