whats the least expensive designer morph??

iceyesnteeth Jul 26, 2005 09:39 PM

i own a really pretty mainland chondro.really nice light green with blue diamonds going down his back.id like to buy another ,maybe to breed eventually but more as a display animal.i dont want to buy another that looks anything like the one i already own because id like to have some variety and show how diverse their coloring can be.i think a pair of chondros that look very different will make a nice display.so without breaking the bank, whats a nice inexpensive morph that will stand out and be clearly different color that the one i own?canarys are really down in price and seem affordable now but im still not convinced that he will not change to green.oh by the way, when i say inexpensive,im not looking for farm raised prices.i do understand that with all unusual coloring there comes a price,i was just wondering if one color morph is more affordable than another.id also like to have an animal that has already changed but i do understand that this will also raise the price quite a bit..

ha thats funny and thats a nice looking snake.who has those for sale??what i would really like to own is a mite phase or a morph with the most black in it.so who is breeding the snakes with the most black?? its either that or if i cant afford it,i may decide and go for a canary....oh by the way, there has been a lot of speculation that the canarys will most likly change to yellow but i think many have been here long enough to have a good idea if they are going to change or not.so anyone who has owned a canary for a while and notice any change?? i would really like to know what the canary owners who have adults for a few months think.they are really dropping down in price recently and are almost at my price range.i think soon may be a good time to buy one if one is interested because i figure the island cant have too many of these guys left.and once they begin captive breeding, they would have to be bred to another solid yellow canary inorder to have yellow babies.if you bred one to a green i think at the very most youll have a green snake with slight yellow markings.this is because green is dominant.

With chondros you'll be better off buying a changed adult or a yearling that looks like it will go the way you like it. It's always a dice game, no matter how you slice it.

I would not even begin to speculate about the canary chondros. It's far to early to assume anything at this point. Though you do have some good ideas and questions. The bottom line is no one knows and its ALL speculation.

As for inexpensive designer morphs. I think it's relative, anything out of this work is going to run you the 3k - 20k mark. High end proven designer babies start at around 1k and go up from there (yellows, blacks, blues, calicos).

I would post on MVF forum www.moreliaviridisforum.com and CWF www.chondroweb.com to look for babies, this is not the best place for chondro information.

I would talk to Chris Haight and Rich Cluver if you like black animals as they both have 80% black chondros in their collection.

No they both do not have sites, yet.

But as said, check out MVF and CWF you will find them, they post photos all the time over there. I took some photos of chris's collection when visiting him the other day... go on, go look.
