Has anyone ordered rodents lately?

burmaboy Jul 26, 2005 10:14 PM

Is it my imagination, or have shipping costs skyrocketed lately?
I was about to place an order today, and the 2nd day shipping cost was out of this world!
Enough to make me change my mind about ordering.
I'll be buying more of my rats and mice locally, and I just found out there is a local farm that sells rabbits, and chickens.
So I'll be patronizing them soon.

I just ordered mine from big apple herp, for a very good price. Rodent pro seems way expensive on the shipping thing. Too bad i'll be deleted soon

My last order of frozen feeders was sent to the wrong state.By time UPS found them and delivered them the next day, they had begun to thaw.I never heard back rom the company, and many of my snakes would'nt eat them after refreezing.
I'm thinking fresh is the way to go.I can always buy extras and freeze them.
One of these days I'm gonna start raising my own rabbits.

In defense of RodentPro--during the recent heat wave in the midsouth my order arrived in perfect condition. Two boxes, rats frozen solid, and dry ice still in the boxes. Those folks know how to pack and insulate a box so that a high quality product is delivered. To me the sanity of not having "if-y" rats arrive on my doorstep is worth whatever they charge. Sick or dead animals are much more expensive than the shipping charges. Just my opinion.

althea
