Escaped Pueblan found.....guess where.........PICS

bthacker Jul 27, 2005 09:40 AM

This guy is my male and he escaped his enclosure last night. After searching the upstairs looking in every shoe, looking downstairs in the other closets, under the fridge......I couldn't find him. I got a wake up from my fiance asking why a snake was in with the mice. I ran downstairs to find this below. I had to bring the mice and rats indoors because it so hot here and I was just starting to build my mice colony up. He only ate 2 and wasn't injured in this whole process but I think it was amazing how far he travelled and how he slithered downstairs from the snake room into the mice cage(which was on top of a toilet seat) ate 2 mice and couldn't get out. I am happy I found him. Neeedless to say he won't be getting out anymore.

Exactly where I found my male pueblan a few years ago!
He still has a tiny scar on his head from tangling with the mice. He did manage to get 2 down though>

I have an unhappy result from a similar escape. A friend was over at my house while I was at work and was showing off my snakes to a friend of his from out of town. He was careless and left the lid ajar on my favorite female coastal plains milk. I had a hamster that I used for scenting and the snake wound up in the hamster' cage later that night. I found it the next morning half eaten by the hamster.
