remove the snakes before you let off the bomb - make sure you air out the room completely before letting the dog or the snakes back in there. If you leave the cages in with the bomb - you will need to clean off any chemical residue also.

Normal flea powder (I think that is different from the "bombs"? I use it on all of my carpets monthly for prevention purposes, including my snake room. My cat loves hanging out with us when we're in there. I have not noticed any adverse effects thus far... Thanks.

My cat gets a drop of that spot treatment once a month.

As for my herp room, well once i used sevin dust(5%)as if it were carpet freshener during a mite scare..there have been no little bugs of any kind since...and no other problems either.

I also give it the spot treatment monthly. I just like to take extra precaution because there are several people near me with outdoor cats, and more strays than I can count in the area. I had a flea problem as soon as I moved to my new place and I don't want to deal with that anymore. I treat the floors around the first of the month, and do the spot treatment around the 15th out of paranoia. Fleas are no fun. Glad I've never had mites!

You can say that again!!! If you think flee's are bad think of a parasite 10 times more stubborn then flee's and thats MITES!

Flea powder or even a carpet spray (which is what I use) should be ok as long as it's not putting out a bunch of dust or fumes for the snakes to enhale - I may be mistaken but I think you can use reptile releive as a flea treatment and it's safe for the snakes.
