I would appreciate some advice from any of you seasoned Cyclura keepers who have experienced temperament changes in maturing animals, especially males. I have four Cyclura: Rocky a male Cyclura nubila caymanensis, a 1999 hatch, Hercules & Zena 1.1 Cyclura cornuta, both hatched in 2002 and Gator a male Cyclura lewisi / nubila hybrid, also a 2002 hatch.
Now that I have introduced my bunch, my concerns are with Rocky. Until this year he has always been affectionate (as lizards go), always coming up to the side of cage wanting to be rubbed. This summer he has become very aggressive, but only towards me; he remains affectionate with my wife and kids. Can’t figure why the change toward me only. My concern is also that my other males will become aggressive in the years to come as the mature. Any advice or shared experiences would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Scott

Welcome to the forum. I have heard about the problem that you describe from a number of people. Why it has never occurred for me, am not sure ? Maybe you need to change your after shave ? just kidding, but fermones are said to have something to do with it, but that is usually with female keepers and male iguanas wanting to mate -- not a male wanting to fight another male. Good luck.
