caging question

i came across a bunch of glass someone was throwing out this week.i decided to buy a glass cutter and build a custom cage for my young chondro.it came out really nice.i cut two vents on either side and the front panel removable.i decided against hinges or slides.the glass kinda just lays in and pops completely out.i did this so the entire cage would be clear and nothing obstructing the view of my snake.i have seen clear hinges but they are never as clear as the tank so i decided against it.it basically looks now like a clear cube.i have two questions.the first one is im thinking about adding a computer fan in one of the vents so that there will be alot of circulattion but im not sure if this is needed.if its not really needed id like to leave it out due to the fact that it will take away from my 100 percent clear look.what do you think?needed or not?mysecond question is,like i said im going for a 100 percent clear look,so id like to use either glass or acrylic tubing as perches.is one better than the other?and will a totally clear tank with clear perches and no substrate be stressful for the snake?there will be no cover and the snake may feel threateded kinda like floating in the air on glass perches.i dont want to stress him but i imagine a really great display that will make his colors look sick when you cant help but notice him when everything else around him is clear.hell really pop out and the clear perches will allow you to see him from almost every angle.so what do you guys think?bad idea?

I would think that being basically "in the open" might stress your snake out, but there are folks out there who house in all acrylic cages and they seem to do alright. I suppose it would be on a snake by snake basis as each are different in what bothers them or not. The only problem I could see is keeping the temps correct as glass is not the best when it comes to insulation R factor. I suspect your thermostat will have to work overtime, especially if it's a larger enclosure in order to keep the temps from fluctuation overmuch.I would think that a clear plastic perch would work alright, although I prefer something natural and rough for them to hold onto. I'd think that a really smooth plastic would be rather slick especially after misting. I think there might be a few more people here who can give you further advice on the appropriateness of this type for your chondro.

hmmm...
personally I think it would stress out the snake not having cover. I'm just a novice tho so take that advise with a grain of salt. The only time I have seen GTPs in clear cages with clear perches was at a show, it did make a nice display I just don't know how well they would thrive in the long run being so 'out in the open' so to speak.
