pellets and Painteds

coyote12899 Jul 27, 2005 09:44 PM

I have 4 Painted turtles an I would like them t start eating pellets. The smallest is about 1 1/2 inches long ad the largest 3 1/2 inches. How can I get them to eat pellets? I would like feed fresh food and pellets mixed. But for now I want them to learn to eat pellets, they are doing fine with the fresh food.

When you say fresh food do you mean like fish? To get them to start eating pellets simply stop feeding them anything else besides pellets. They will soon realize that its food. To get them started, use Reptomin. I have had the best luck with that for all my picky eaters. Then you can ween them off of it, and onto Mazuri which is the best pellet food out. I hope you got a big tank to house 4 painteds together.

I use to have a collection of Leopard Geckos that I bred, but have sold them.
