Albino Banana California Kingsnakes hatching......

Kerby... Jul 28, 2005 10:50 AM

My clutches have just started to hatch. So it will be like opening Christmas presents between now and in to September.

These are straight out of the egg and haven't shed. I will post pics after they have shed and fed, but I can already tell they will be really YELLOW!

No I do not have them. I'm still not convinced that they are pure cal kings. I know, I've read all the threads. On some pictures they don't look like a cal king at all. If Lloyd Lemke was selling them in the 1990's, then where are they all now?????? I've been to a lot of IRBA shows in the mid to late 1990's and even bought some snakes from Lemke before he passed away and I never saw any.

A frined of mine in the Phoenix area has one and bred it to a cal king. I'm anxious to see what pops out.

I find that most people who have different cal king morphs, KNOW the lineage. But yet these seem to have none. They always pop up as mystery buys or misidentified.

I'm not saying they are hybrids. I'm just not convinced what they are. Simple recessive?? Bred with Mexican Blacks?? Natural inregrade in S. Arizona??? Combination of 2 recessive genes?? Natural occuring?? Melanistic morph??............

There are still new cal kings morphs around the corner, THAT'S FOR SURE.

I have seen tham at Daytona. They are solid brown. VERY NICE. What do you think they are crossed with?

Kerby... Jul 28, 2005 08:47 PM

I'm not saying that they are hybrids.

So if they are naturally occuring....what is the lineage?

Is it a recessive gene?

A combination of 2 recessive genes?

A Chocolate Banana x Mendota x Blizzard with a cherry on top and whip cream, sprinkled with pecan nuts?

I don't know.

I do know this - I would like a pair!

Why don't you pick me up a pair (1.1) at Daytona and I'll send ya some money.

I have a Nikon COOLPIX 5700. I've had it for about a year and a half. It is a 5 Mega pixel with an 8x Optical Zoom (important). The higher mega pixel you have will allow you to do more with the pic on editing programs. Also, you want a high OPTICAL ZOOM, don't worry about digital zoom IMO. I use Paint Shop Pro (a real OLD version LOL). So I don't have to be very close at all, in fact in this picture I was about 3 feet away when I took the pic, then zoomed it on Paint Shop Pro. I also have a macro function that does the same thing, only with my camera I can't use the macro function with higher quality settings. And I know that there a lot of functions on my camera that I'm not aware of. Take lots of pics and experiment.
