Box identification

caps8419 Jul 28, 2005 12:30 PM

help with identification of 2 ornates.

This is pokey hes about 30 years old. I'm pretty sure he is ornata ornata.

This is Lucky, he was very sick in a pet shop and they ended up giving him to me. After some deworming injection, he is doing much better. His shell is discolored perhaps from malnutrition? My main question is regarding if he is ornata ornata or a desert ornate. Thanks.

Although these guys have been through some harsh treatment; I believe both are ornata ornata

Is ornata ornata the same as an eastern box turtle?

They are different not the same.
Easterns are Terrapene carolina carolina.
Ornates (or Westerns) are Terrapene ornata ornata.
